All of the Flex-on stirrups share the same technical assets: shock absorption, offset and off‑center stirrup leather eyelets, wide footrests, and customization options. Whatever the model, their performance remains the same. The only differences between them stems in their design and safety features as the Safe-on and Ir-on S models include a safety arm designed to release the foot in case of fall.
Why is there a right and a left stirrup?
The stirrups have an offset and off‑center stirrup leather eyelet: on the right stirrup, the eyelet is directed toward the left, whereas on the left stirrup, it is directed toward the right. This specific orientation ensures that each stirrup is naturally positioned under the rider’s legs while riding.
Our Safe-on stirrups are equipped with a flexible elastomer arm designed with two safety fuses, to reduce the risk of getting stuck.
Please, note that the safety arm might not open if the fall is too slow or stationary, as it requires a force over 40kg to open.
Shock absorption is the flagship technology of our stirrups!
Thanks to two elastomer pieces located under the footrest, the shocks and vibrations created by the horse’s movements are efficiently reduced and absorbed. As a result: less strain and less joint and muscle pain for the rider, and more comfort for the horse’s back. A perfect solution for riders suffering from knee or ankle pain.
Unlike absorption, cushioning can visibly be observed. Indeed, its action is like a spring. Its flaw stems in the “restitution” of shocks and vibrations, when the component comes back to its initial place. On the other hand, the absorption is invisible but proves to be much more effective since it completely cancels shocks and vibrations, without restitution.
Yes, they can! Flex-on stirrups are suited for all riders, whatever their level or discipline. All models share the same technical features, the only difference being their design.
Yes, you can use them indifferently with single stirrup leathers or double stirrup leathers.
The design of our inclined footrest is not arbitrary: it is the result of an in-depth study in ergonomics and biomechanics. Its 11° tilt is engineered to offer an optimal postural alignment: heels, hips, shoulders. The rider benefits from more stability, comfort and efficiency and less joint strain. We recommend hypermobile riders (double-jointed) to use a flat footrest. But for everyone else, the inclined footrest is the most suited and performant solution.
Our inserts are designed as wear parts on purpose: they gradually wear down over time, thus avoiding to damage the soles of your boots.
Depending on how often you ride, the studs may be completely worn down after 1 or 2 years. But don’t worry: an insert kit is available on our website and from our retailers, to replace them easily by yourself.
All of them! Because all of our stirrups have the same footrest tilt, and their shock absorbers are designed to have the same density. So, if you ride with a different stirrup model on each foot, you won’t feel any difference.
The Safe-on Junior models are assembled with a lower density safety arm, specially designed to ease the opening in case of fall, regardless of the child’s weight. For riders over 31 kg, this arm can however open too easily at times. That is why we have developed a new higher density version, more adapted and secure for their weight.

The MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) is an innovation designed to better protect your brain in case of impact. How? During a fall, the rotational movement of the head is one of the main contributors to concussions and serious brain injuries.
Why is rotational movement dangerous?
The brain is very sensitive to rotational movements because its properties are similar to those of water or gel. During an angled impact, different parts of the brain can move with respect to each other, causing tissue to stretch. This phenomenon is the one that can lead to concussions and serious brain injuries.
How does MIPS actually protect you?
The MIPS system incorporates a thin, low-friction layer inside your Flex-on helmet. During a fall, this layer slightly moves so that the helmet deflects part of the rotational forces away from your head.
The helmet is ventilated thanks to 2 large front and rear grids that allow an airflow inside, through specifically designed channels.
Yes, it weighs less than 1 kg.
Its unmatched comfort is one of the main assets of this helmet.
It is possible to wear this helmet with long hair, but you need to make sure to position the knot underneath the helmet. Another solution would be to wear a hair net to keep all of your hair inside the helmet.
